WILLS, ESTATE PLANNING & PROBATE

The Estate Planning practice at Riney Ronquillo Soule focuses on minimizing tax liabilities and wealth preservation for the heirs of the estate. Texas does not have inheritance taxes at the state level, but many affluent residents will be subject to the federal estate tax. We aim to develop long-term strategies that will achieve our clients’ goals for the future.

ESTATE PLANNING

Our attorneys provide sophisticated estate planning for individuals, married couples and families. They collaborate with clients to craft custom estate plans that ensure their assets pass to their intended heirs with minimal taxes or expenses. Some clients simply need basic Wills created, but we also guide clients who need to plan for more complex issues. Our estate planning services include:

  • Wills

  • Trusts

  • Family Limited Partnerships

  • Testamentary Charitable Foundations

  • Estate plans for nontraditional families and special circumstances, such as blended families and families with children who have physical and mental disabilities

  • Planning for incapacity, including the use of Revocable Living Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Medical Directives

ESTATE ADMINISTRATION

Our approach to estate administration embodies the proverb that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We create estate plans that are flexible and easily amended to reflect changes in the client’s family, and marital status, as well as new tax legislation that would warrant changes in an estate plan. In addition, experience in probate litigation allows our attorneys to foresee potential problems and approach the probate administration process with valuable insights that minimize conflicts.

PROBATE LITIGATION

When there is a dispute over an estate or Will, our clients rely on our extensive experience in probate litigation. We represent clients in all forms of adversary proceedings from Will contests, to defending estates and fiduciaries or advancing beneficiary, creditor or third-party claims.
